Meet your teachers:
I grew up in a small town in Texas with a very active family. If we weren’t hunting or riding horses, we were playing games or sports or just being outside. I played all the sports I could growing up. I finally settled with soccer, which I played for 4 years in college. After graduating college with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science, I coached volleyball and soccer. I was very active in college and was looking for something to get into. That’s when my sister suggested CrossFit. I immediately was hooked! After a few years of teaching and coaching, I decided to move up to Bozeman. I have loved every second! I’ve had the opportunities to be involved in all kinds of leagues here including ice hockey, kickball, ultimate Frisbee, football, softball, and floor hockey. I’ve also enjoyed hiking, backpacking, and snowboarding. I have enjoyed the challenges that CrossFit provides and the community of support. It has helped me be a better athlete in all other aspects of my life.
I am from a small town in the arctic tundra of Buffalo, Minnesota. I first moved to Montana to pursue a degree in business management at MSU. I now work full time managing Gallatin Valley Chiropractic. In my spare time I’m up in any mountain range doing any mountain activity I can get ahold of.
I had been active throughout my childhood and teen years and competing in multiple sports in high school. After high school I started missing competing and being apart of a athletic community. As I was talking to one of my good friends she mentioned I should take a look at Crossfit. It took me just days after looking up what it was and how to get started, to actually start my journey. I instantly loved that Crossfit offered something new and challenging every day. I have been hooked since my very first workout.
When the opportunity for coaching kids came up, it fell into my lap at the perfect time. I had been trying to find a way to get more involved and bring back my experience with kids. And what a perfect way to mesh to things together that I love!
My name is Mikaela Maddock and I am so excited to start coaching hyalite kids! I graduated from Montana State with a degree in Elementary Education and am currently teaching preschool. In my past, I have nannied, coached tumbling classes, hosted birthday parties, and worked at a trampoline park. I have a passion for teaching kids and truly love what I do. When I’m not teaching, I love being outside and being active. Some of my favorite things are hiking, boating, floating, fishing, CrossFit, and taking my pup Luna to explore. I am so excited to combine my love of teaching with my love of being active and I look forward to making fitness fun for kiddos.
