Just like the past couple weeks, Thursday is Snatch practice. Today, we'll be working on the first pull of the Snatch, which is the Snatch-Grip Deadlift. It is the component that gets the Snatch off the ground and moving so that you can throw it over your head.
Unfortunately, if this portion of the Snatch is struggling, it will affect your confidence rather largely. If it's heavy just pulling the bar off the ground, why would you believe you can throw it all the way over your head? That's the mentality anyway.
Really, every piece of the Snatch should feel heavy when the weight is heavy. You just have to build the confidence to know that, regardless of how heavy it feels, you can control it the whole way. That's what we're doing today.
